Safety advice The extremely aggressive IF 5 should be handled only if skin and eyes are protected with rubber gloves, aprons, face shield or gas-mask. Care should be taken to ensure adequate airing and ventilation of the working area.
In case of contact with IF 5 , remove the victim from the contaminated area and call a physician immediately. Affected parts must be washed with plenty of water and diluted sodium carbonate solution.
Remove all contaminated clothing. In case of spillage: Cover the IF 5 with sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate or cryolite. In case of fire: Use sodium bicarbonate dry-chemical extinguisher (no water!).
